Hunt

The Hunt function is useful in situations where multiple hunters are going hunting and want to share collars and controllers with each other. You can also send messages between each other.

Warning

A maximum of 40 devices (dogs + controllers) can be paired in one controller.
If there are more participants in the hunt, only the first 40 who broadcast first will connect.

After selecting Join Hunt, choose which dogs you're taking with you.
On the main screens, only those dogs that you selected for the hunt will be displayed.

In the next step, enter the Hunt ID that you create – a unique code that all hunt participants must enter identically for the devices to connect properly.

Code entry works as follows:

  • Navigate to the Hunt ID item and press OK
  • Use arrows Arrow up / Arrow down to select characters
  • Press OK button to move to the next position

After filling in the complete code, select Save – and you're in the hunt! 🎉

Finally, you'll return to the screen showing the name and ID of the current hunt.

Information

Other hunters join the same way – it's just important that they enter the same code.

Example

Imagine the following situation:

2 hunters are joining the hunt. Each has 2 dogs with them – one with an X30 collar and another with an X40.

Each of them selects both dogs when joining the hunt:

  • Hunter A: dog with X30 + dog with X40
  • Hunter B: dog with X30 + dog with X40

What does each hunter see?

DeviceHunter AHunter B
Own dogs✅ both dogs✅ both dogs
Other hunter's dogs✅ only dog with X40 collar✅ only dog with X40 collar
Other hunter's controller✅ if shared✅ if shared
Note

X30 type collars are not shared between hunters. X40 type collars are shared automatically after joining the same hunt.
If both hunters have the "Send my position" option enabled in controller settings, they will also see each other's controllers.

tip

If Hunter A wants to see the other hunter's X30 collar, they must pair it. In this case, however, they gain the ability to fully control the collar and change its settings.
